Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half-Sovereign, 1891 S, Sydney Mint, Australia, Golden Jubilee style bust facing left, designed by J Edgar Boehm, small crown and veil on head, pearl earring with pearl necklace, I.E.B. initials close together raised on truncation with imperfect J, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. struck en medaille, crowned quartered high shield of arms, S and date below more spread out either side of bottom of frame, legend commences lower left with toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: edge milled, weight 3.94g (DISH S509; Marsh 487A R4; S.3871C). Once cleaned with associated surface marks, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU details cleaned, very rare.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God," on obverse and as "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith" on the reverse.
