The calendar year mintage for all four denominations for the year 1887 would produce 4,488 Maundy sets.
This was the final year for the young head Maundy Set for Victoria.
The abbreviated Latin legend on the obverse translates as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
