Victoria 1846 Penny

Victoria (1837-1901), copper Penny, 1846, ornamental trident, young filleted head left, W.W. on truncation, date below, legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. Britannia seated right with ornamental trident and shield, legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIAR: REG: FID: DEF: last colon close, emblems in exergue, weight 18.62g (Peck 1486; S.3948). With much lustre, uneven tone, some light hairlines, otherwise good extremely fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Briton's, Defender of the Faith."
