Victoria 1839 proof Groat plain edge upright die axis, as issued in the proof set

Victoria (1837-1901), silver Proof Groat, 1839, young filleted head left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F: D:, rev. struck en medaille, Britannia seated right with trident and shield, date in exergue, FOUR PENCE legend surrounding, edge plain (Bull 3324; ESC 1933; Davies 1203; S.3913). Toned, practically as struck, rare with upright die axis.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
