Stephen (1135-54), silver Penny, Watford type (c.1136-45), Lincoln Mint, Moneyer Ailred, crowned bust with sceptre right, Latin legend and beaded border surrounding, +STIEFNE R, rev. cross moline, lis in each angle, Latin legend and beaded border surrounding, +A-LR--- weight 1.20g (N.873; S.1278). With a clear portrait, though coin of irregular shape, legends not all visible, otherwise a bold very fine for issue.

Partly from some deduction of known mints and moneyer combinations the best fit Moneyer name and Mint is Ailred at Lincoln and the legends translate as "Stephen King" on obverse and "Ailred of Lincoln" on the reverse.
