Scotland, James VI (1567-1625),after accession to English throne, silver One Shilling, rose, beaded circles and legend surrounding, initial mark thistle both sides, I. D. G. ROSA. SINE. SPINA,rev.thistle, beaded circles and legend surrounding, .TVEATVR. VNITA. DEVS., weight 0.56g (Burns 6 fig.978; S.5510).Toned in parts, chip at top of reverse, a couple of raised die flaws, a bold to good very fine, rare.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "James, by the Grace of God, a rose without a thorn" and on the reverse as "May God guard these united."
