Nero, Silver Denarius

Nero (A.D. 54-68), Silver Denarius. Mint of Rome, struck c. A.D. 64-5. NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS, laureate head facing right, rev. AVGVSTVS AVGVSTA, Nero, radiate and togate, and holding a patera and a long sceptre, standing left beside Poppaea, veiled and draped, holding a patera and a cornucopiae, 3.35g., 6h (RIC 45; BMC 54; C 43). An exceptional example of this rare issue, in an unusually high state of preservation, with a pretty light iridescent tone, good extremely fine and most attractive.
