Ottoman Empire, Mehmet II (second reign AH 855-886 / 1451-1481), gold Sultani, Constantinople, AH 883, honourific titles, mint and date, 3.53g (Pere 80; Album 1306). Rare and extremely fine.

This is the first gold coinage (second issue) that Mehmet II struck in Constantinople after overthrowing the Byzantine Empire. It was based on the weight of the Venetian Ducat.
