Henry VII gold Angel, mintmark pheon

Henry VII (1485-1509), gold Angel of six shillings and eight pence, type V, St Michael slaying dragon, beaded circle and Latin legend surrounding, initial mark pheon (1505-09) both sides, saltire stops and abbreviated Latin legend both sides hEnRIC'xx DI'xx GRA'x REXx AnGLIE' xZx FRA'x rev. ship sailing right, quartered shield upon hull, cross above, h to left, rose to right, PERx CRVCE'x TVA'x SALVAx nOSx XPE'x RED', weight 5.13g (Schneider 542; N.1698; S.2187). Toned, with a great face on the Angel, good very fine.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Henry by the Grace of God, King of England and France"; and on the reverse "By Thy cross, save us, O Christ, our Redeemer."
