George IV 1826 Penny, second year of the copper penny in this reign
George IV (1820-30), copper Penny, 1826, laureate head left, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, emblems in exergue, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIAR: REX FID: DEF: weight 18.90g (Peck 1422; S.3823). Toned, with a couple of light blemishes, extremely fine.
The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George the Fourth by the grace of God," and on the reverse "King of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
