George III (1760-1820), gold Third Guinea, 1802, second type, first laureate head right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA. rev. large crown, date below crown, Latin legend surrounding commencing at top, + BRITANNIARUM REX FIDEI DEFENSOR, edge milled (Bull 872; MCE 454; S.3739). Some nicks and bagmarks in fields, good residual lustre around the legend, graded by NGC as MS62.

NGC Certification 6670826-004

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III by the grace of God" and on the reverse "King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
