George II (1727-60),gold Two Guineas, 1739, young laureate head left, legend surrounding, GEORGIVS. II. DEI. GRATIA., variety with stop immediately after II,rev.crowned quartered shield of arms, date either side of crown, abbreviated Latin legend, M.B.F.ET.H. REX. F.D.B.ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T.ET.E edge grained, weight 16.71g (Schneider obv.6/rev.7; MCE.291; S.3667B).Lightly toned, has been lightly tooled and smoothed on neck and obverse field in front, otherwise almost very fine, reverse stronger.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George II by the Grace of God" and continues on to the reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Luneberg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire".

The calendar year output of gold in the year 1739 totalled £283,854.
