George I (1714-27),silver threepence, 1721, laureate and draped bust right, legend surrounds, GEORGIVS. DEI. GRA.,rev.crowned mark of value, date either side of crown, legend reads .MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX., weight 1.49g (Bull.1624; ESC.2016; Robinson p.157:174; S.3655). Toned, some reverse raised die flaws, a bold very fine.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George I by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
The 1721 Fourpence, Threepence and Twopence are the only small silver coins of this date with no maundy set being available.
