Edward VII (1901-1910), gold Sovereign, 1902 M, Melbourne Mint, Coronation year, bare head right, De S. below truncation for engraver George W De Saulles, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, EDWARDVS VII D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP:, rev St George slaying the dragon with sword, broken lance to lower left, M at centre of ground line for Melbourne, tiny B.P. in exergue for engraver Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled, 8.00g (Bentley 814; McD 211; Hill 186; S 3971).Toned with some light nicks and surface marks both sides, almost extremely fine with some residual underlying brilliance.

Calendar Year Mintage 4,265,000.

The Latin legend on the obverse translates as "Edward the Seventh, by the grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
