Charles II (1660-85), silver Twopence, first hammered issue (1660-61), crowned bust left, Latin legend and outer toothed border surrounding both sides, initial mark crown obverse only, CAROLVS. II. D.G. MAG. BRIT. FR. ET. HIB. REX, rev. long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, reads. CHRISTO. AVSPICE. REGNO, harp with 5 strings, weight 0.95g (Bull 275; ESC 2161; Robinson p.143: 2 (i); N.2770; S.3310). Toned, somewhat ragged flan at 3 o'clock, few contact marks, raised die flaw in obverse field, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as XF45 scarce.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Charles by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland"; and on the reverse "I reign under the auspice of Christ."
