Antoninus Pius (AD 138-161), gold Aureus, Rome, AD 139, ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P, bare head right, rev. TR POT COS II, Pietas standing left, by altar, raising right hand and holding box of incense, 7.35g, 6h (RIC III, 53a). Obverse edge scraped between 11 and 7 o'clock, small vertical scratch below exergual line, otherwise a highly attractive coin, about extremely fine and with underlying lustre.
