Anne 1712 Half-Guinea

Anne (1702-14), gold Half-Guinea, 1712, Post-Union, draped bust left, legend surrounding, ANNA.DEI. GRATIA. toothed border around rim both sides, rev. Post-Union crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, .MAG BRI. FR ET. HIB REG. weight 4.21g (MCE 235; S.3575). Brilliant, one red spot at G of obverse legend, otherwise a pleasing extremely fine.

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Anne by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
