19th Century Token, struck in silver, Wiltshire, Marlborough, Old Bank, Shilling, 1811, four lines in centre, ONE / SHILLING / TOKEN / 1811, border of dots surrounding, legend and outer toothed border around all, +MARLBOROUGH+ in upper half, OLD . BANK in lower half, rev. four cruciform clasped hands with cuffs, border of dots surrounding, legend and outer toothed border around all, +KING . GOSLING. TANNER & GRIFFITHS, edge, grained, weight 3.52g (Davis 3 R; Withers 2-3). Toned very fine.

The bankers associated with this Shilling were Stephen King, John Gosling, William Tanner and Robert Griffiths. Branches of their bank were present in other Wiltshire towns and later circa 1830 without Griffiths.
