17thCentury Token, Suffolk,Beccles, Town Farthing, 1670, house and sheep pen within toothed outer border, rev. four line inscription, *A* / BECCLES / FARTHING / 16B70 within toothed outer border, weight 2.08g (Norweb 4238; Boyne 1; B.W.5). Toned a bold fine.

Boyne notes at a Corporation of Beccles meeting of 8th March 1670 that a total of ten pounds was allocated to procure Farthings for the common use of the poor and when Boyne was writing in 1858 the dies still survived in the Corporation chest.
