HOWES. AT. CHARTR, rev. initials in two lines, lozenge stop either side of H / I.M, roped circle and legend surrounding, initial mark mullet, HOVSE . LANE . END, weight 1.19g (B.W. 565). Toned very fine.
Charterhouse Lane was a narrow link between St John Street and one of the three gates of the London Charterhouse, north of Smithfield.
