George IV (1820-30), gold Sovereign, 1826, second bare head left, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF: (Bentley 19; Hill 11; Bull EGC 968; M.C.E. 477; S.3801). Toned with some light surface marks, graded by NGC as MS64, second finest grade level.

We note as of July 2025 that NGC has graded 263 examples of this date, of which only one is a step finer; PCGS have graded 98, of which only two are one stop finer.

Calendar year mintage 5,724,046.
The Latin legends translate to on obverse "George the Fourth by the Grace of God," continuing on the reverse as "King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
